Extensive knowledge has been gained over the last 35 years resulting in highly effective methods being developed in PERMANENTLY solving damp related problems in both new and old structures.

A wonderful experience dealing with DampSeal with Ivan Grant at the helm. Appreciate the personal touch. Ivan takes pride in being on sight and ensures care when dealing with my wife and I as his customer. Commitments that are contracted for delivery, materials, finishes and additional work are carried out as promised.
DampSeal utilise specialised and experienced staff that have been in their employ long term. The team remains consistent and they are extremely capable to manage themselves and conduct their services professionally. Our home has certain nuances which add complexity, such as height and size, however the team had dealt with these well and worked their way through methodically.
We have to acknowledge the two sets of teams who came through for 2 separate contracted work which were for damp proofing and painting:
1. Mzoli and his team who had carried out the damp proofing work around the entire perimeter of the house inside and outside - they had done a great job. They had also attended to painting the inside of the house and worked wonderfully through our place in a neat and non intrusive manner.
2. Herman and his team who had painted our entire house, from roof to ground and all boundary walls and fixtures. This was a huge task given the complexity of the work and he managed his team well. Again very neat and non intrusive.
Both teams cleaned up every day and took care to ensure their equipment was packed away neatly.
Thanks Ivan, Mzoli and Herman. Great relationship forged and we will use DampSeal as our trusted partner in home maintenance and advisory for the long term.

As a property inspector I daily see severe damp damage on properties.
In my opinion this is the biggest problem in South African houses and buildings and due to a construction error, because builders do not know how to build.
I do 5 - 7 inspections per week, and in the last 8 years, I have found 1 house that did not have damp damage.

I once came across an article that claimed water is your house’s biggest enemy. At the time, I didn’t fully understand the depth of that statement—until my own home began to experience significant waterproofing issues. I quickly realized that no paint or product could permanently solve the problem. Fortunately, I was referred to Ivan from Damp Seal SA, and that marked the end of my troubles.
Ivan and his experienced team went above and beyond to resolve the issue. They stripped the plaster from all the affected walls—both interior and exterior—down to the bare bricks (in some areas, even down to the foundation). They then extended the existing damp courses with silicone, followed by sealing the exposed bricks with a cement/polymer dampproofing slurry. After this, they re-plastered the walls with a strong mix that included dampproofing additives. To finish, a final cement/polymer topcoat was applied to ensure the new plaster was well sealed in preparation for painting.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful I found the right experts to address my waterproofing issues once and for all. Their work has truly made a lasting difference!

They worked very neatly but the process does take quite a bit of time. We had a issue on a wall two years later and they came and sorted it under warrantee so that was a very positive experience.
